Pauline ?Polly? Marrs Niel died Monday, July 23, 2007.
She was born in Mendota, Virginia, on August 6, 1916, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Neal Marrs.
Polly was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport and had been active in the Children's Ministry and WMU. She also had been very involved in the Girl Scouts organization and had been a longtime volunteer at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 71 years, Conley R. Niel; and a younger sister, Helen Marrs.
Surviving are her step-brother, James W. Ison, Cincinnati, Ohio; one nephew; three nieces; and numerous cousins and loving friends.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26th, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating and Susan Hoover providing special music. Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Bowery, Willard Bowery, David Casey, Gail Farthing, Okey Frazier, John D. Parker Jr., John Parsons, and Bill Sharp. There will be special seating for member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Baysmont for the loving care Polly received.
