Pauline Ward, 84, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Wexford House following a brief illness.
Born in Lee County, Virginia, she had resided most of her life in Blountville. Pauline loved to read her Bible, spend time with her family, and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ward; her special friend, Lewis Harrison; one son, Ronnie Ward; one daughter, Linda Kaye Ward; three brothers, E. F. Rivers, Buford Rivers, and Glen Rivers; one sister, Doris Clark; and her parents, Earl and Virgie Rivers.
Pauline is survived by her son, Rick Ward and wife Jennifer of Blountville; one granddaughter, Nikki Ward of Knoxville; one grandson, Lynn Mowell of Blountville; four sisters, Velma Dobbins of Indianapolis, IN, Ila Mae Mertens and husband Ron of Kingsport, Earletta Huff and husband Barry of Hickory, NC, and Shirley Shuler and husband Richard of Dryden, VA; four brothers, Neil Rivers and wife Carol of Jonesville, VA, Gaye Rivers and wife Nita of Blountville, Colin Rivers and wife Deloris of Dryden, VA, and Jim Rivers of Big Stone Gap, VA; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Rachel Forbush; and her special dog, "Bron".
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Ed Dillowe officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
