Pearl Carmack Miller, 95, of Memphis, TN, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010.
She was born in Wise County, VA, on July 27, 1915, and grew up in Imboden, VA. She owned and operated Kilgore's Market for 26 years. She retired from Holston Valley Hospital after 10 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church and the American Legion Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster D. and Arlena Carmack, and siblings Estelle Carmack Bandy, Donald D. Carmack, Kathleen Carmack Seals, and William D. Carmack, her first husband Claude C. Kilgore, and her second husband Luther G. Miller.
She is survived by one daughter, Claudia Kilgore Proctor, and her husband Dr. Jim Proctor; a brother, Walter D. Carmack and his wife Nola Carmack. She also has three step daughters, Hallie Miller Beaubien, Lois Miller Cronenwett, and Janetta Miller Corder. She has two grand-daughters, one great-grandchild, and 11 step-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at First Christian Church in Kingsport at 2:00 p.m.
