Peggy Ann Dickson Harvey, 89, of Kingsport, passed away at home on Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born and raised in Kingsport. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and Whitney's Business College. She was employed by Eastman Chemical Company for 21 years. She also worked for JCPenney in Atlanta and Kingsport. Peggy enjoyed bowling and caring for her beautiful flowers. Her collection of elephants was admired by all.
She was a charter member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was diligent in serving meals and helping in many ways.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Harvey; parents, John Wilburn Dickson and Carrie Hicks Dickson; brothers, Charles (Bud) Hicks Dickson and John (Bill) Wilburn Dickson, Jr.; and sisters, Agnes Dickson Wininger and Louise Dickson Hawk.
Upon her marriage to C.K., she became the mother of Charlene, Sharon, Chuck, and Henry J. Harvey. Her capacity to serve this family was remarkable. Her love was felt by her friends, children, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren (Lauren Freeman, Casey and Jonathan Harvey, Abigail and Jessica Harvey, Joseph and Michael Walker, and Robert Bethke).
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with The Rev. Dr. Chris Denny, great nephew, officiating.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
