Peggy Ann Blakley Lamphear Brooks, 66, peacefully went to her heavenly home on Friday January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief courageous fight with cancer. Peggy was born on November 9, 1958. She graduated from Sullivan West High School where she excelled in academics and participated in tennis, cheerleading, color guard, and marching band. Peggy retired from Eastman Chemical where she worked in lifting services and previously crew 4 of 156, high pressure, and at Sullivan Paving. Peggy was a devoted Christian and member at Tri-Cities Baptist Church.
Peggy was proceeded in death by her husband, John Brooks Jr.; parents, Bill and Norma Blakley; siblings, Tony Blakley, Cindy Cooke, and Bo Blakley; friends at heart, Lindsay Blakley and Arf McCamey.
Survivors include her daughter, Maria Lamphear; stepchildren, Gena Phillips, Trevor Brooks, Wes Brooks, and Kendra Brooks; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Peggy loved BIG and her love was felt by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at Tri-Cities Baptist Church at 5pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Link House, 433 New Beason Well Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660 or to Agape Women’s Services, 515 W. Walnut St., Johnson City, TN 37604, in Peggy’s honor.
