Peggy Jean Arnold

Peggy Jean Arnold, 85, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at The Wexford House on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Born in Bristol, TN on July 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Ticy B. and Allie Matherly Moore. She graduated from Virginia High School and previously worked at Appco Market in Bristol before moving to Kingsport. She will be remember as a loving and devoted mom, Ninny, sister, and friend.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wexford House and Wellmont Hospice.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Hurld (Harold) Overbay and grandson, Brian Overbay.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Overbay Light and husband, Gary of Kingsport, and Joyce Rossanna Leonard of Bristol, TN; two grandsons, Gary and Tony Leonard; nine great-grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

A gathering of friends will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch Chapel.

Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Shelby Hills, 839 Bluff City Hwy, Bristol, TN 37620, with speaker, Anthony Dickens. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
