Peggy Thompson

Peggy Thompson, 72, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2010, after an extended illness. She was a wonderful and gracious lady who was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, William Overbay and Lillian Overbay Robinette; brother, Douglas Ross Overbay; and husband, Henry Bailey.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Lynn and husband Steve of Blountville; sons, Roger Bailey and wife Aimee of Kingsport and Timothy Wayne Bailey and wife Dannah also of Kingsport; grandchildren, Crissy Rebbert and husband Matthew, Andy Lynn and wife Kristen, Lindsey Bailey, Ashlyn Bailey, and Henry Bailey; great-grandchildren, Caroline Rebbert, Lucas Rebbert, and Sydney Lynn; sisters, Helen Dunn, Lillian Lane, Thelma Hale, and Mary Tucker; brothers, Clifton Overbay, William Overbay, J.D. Overbay, Jerry Overbay, and Benny Overbay; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Baker and Chris Ball officiating.

Burial will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Kendrick's Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Dunn, Rick Overbay, David Hale, Andy Lynn, Brian Overbay, and Matthew Rebbert.
