Penny R. Smith

Penny R. Smith, 54, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, December 27, 2016, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to complications from diabetes and renal failure.

She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport except for a few years of employment in Winston Salem, NC.

Penny was a caring person, a loyal friend and daughter. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a teenager and lived her life to serve Him. Her remarkable knowledge of the bible was a blessing to many. She was a committed bible study teacher and prayer warrior at Shades of Grace Church.

Penny is survived by her parents, Gary and Norma Smith of Kingsport; a sister, Robin Smith of Kingsport; and a brother, Glenn Smith of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and longtime friend, Judy Vaughn.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8 pm Monday, January 2, 2017, at Shades of Grace Church, 313 E. Sullivan Street, Kingsport, TN 37660. Rev. Will Shewey will officiate. A formal memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Although we will miss Penny every day, she will remain in our hearts forever. Penny's vision is restored and her voice is clear and strong as she sings praises to her Heavenly Father.
