Penny S. Wills, 47, 134 E Park Dr., Kingsport, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 31, 2011 after an apparent heart attack.
She lived in the Kingsport and Church Hill area all of her life and was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School, class of 1981. Penny was a loving daughter, sister, momma, mamaw and friend with a great big heart and steadfast faith with special love to her granddaughter, Stevi Laiken Ray.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Oma Harper; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Nannie Horton; and grandson Ricky Dawson Overbay.
Penny is deeply loved and survived by her parents, Jim Harper of Kingsport and Shirley Ray of Church Hill; two brothers Jimmy Harper, II and wife, Maria of Anderson, SC, Tyler Harper of Kingsport; daughter Brooke Wills of Church Hill; son Cody Compton of Kingsport; granddaughter Stevi Laiken Ray of Church Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. David Salley and Rev. Anthony Wilson officiating.
