Perry R. Dickenson, 67, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday October 3, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley.
Born April 10, 1942, to the late Charlie and Maude Riggs Dickenson, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and loved by all who knew him. He was a member of Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and he was strong in his faith. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 934 Electrician's Union and Labor Union. He loved classic cars and trucks, and loved to collect die cast models of them.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lydle, Okie, and Stanley Dickenson; and two infant sisters, Arlene and Mary Dickenson.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Linda Harkleroad Dickenson; daughter, Angela Wilson and husband Jason; grandchildren, Dexter, Dylan, and Destiny Wilson; sisters, Carolyn Starnes and husband Roy, Phyllis Salling, and Kay Street; brother, Stuart Dickenson and wife Bobbie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Freda Harkleroad, Kay Dickenson, and Gary and Barbara Musselman; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Gardner's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bobby Carter, Minister Clarence Huffman, and Pastor Jon Reed officiating. Mr. Dickenson's body will lie in state for one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Gardner's Chapel Cemetery.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
