Perry Lee Hutchins, 78, of Gray, TN., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. He was a member of Orebank Chapel Central Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. and served 39 years in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Leta Hutchins of the home; one daughter, Karen Moore and husband Harry of Gray; three sons, Danny Hutchins and wife Liz of Knoxville, TN., David Hutchins and wife Ellen of Johnson City, TN., James Hutchins and wife Karen of Gray, TN.; four grandchildren, Santana and Andrew Hutchins, Justin Moore and Ashley White; along with several nieces and nephews.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Davie Jane Tate Hutchins; seven sisters and two brothers.
Perry was an active member of the Korean War Veteran's Association, where in the past he served as chaplain. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion of Kingsport, Posts 3/265 with Korean War Veteran's Association as pallbearers.
A very special and heartfelt thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Arless W. Pease for their devotion, kindness, and loving care of all military veterans. Mr. Pease is a shining example of what the United States of America military stands for; we are proud to call him our friend and we appreciate all their help during this trying time.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Orebank Chapel Central Baptist Church on Saturday December 4, 2010. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with his Pastor Lelbert Thornburg and his son, Preacher David Hutchins officiating. Music will be provided by the Orebank Chapel Choir and Janice and Wayne McNutt. Graveside services will follow at Snyders Memorial Gardens.
