Perry Kilgore, 50, Kingsport, passed away Saturday May 16, 2009 at his home following a courageous battle against cancer.
Born in Kingsport on December 24, 1958, he was a lifetime resident of Kingsport and an employee of Frito-Lay at Piney Flats. Perry had many interests outside his work, but his greatest joy was his family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Kilgore; father, Riley M. Kilgore; mother, Hazel Kilgore; two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Kilgore; and one sister, Lucinda Kilgore.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Cecil Kilgore; daughter, Melody Castle and husband, Jeff; son, Matthew Kilgore; step-sons, Josh Grimes, Sgt. Jeffrey Gilmer, and Matthew Gilmer; two sisters, Marcella Farmer and husband, Bill, and Malinda Moore and husband, Doug, step-mother, Delphia Kilgore; grandson, Jeffery Castle; niece, Camey Moore; nephew, Jason Farmer; cousin, Lillie Kilgore; and Aunt Peggy Cornett and family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
