Pharabie "Jane" Hurd Ingram

Pharabie "Jane" Hurd Ingram, 95, entered heaven's gates into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her immediate family. Her greatest joy was lovingly serving her family, growing and preparing wonderful meals and crafting beautiful garments for her children and grandchildren.

Jane was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for 84 years. Her devotion was unwavering for every aspect of church participation. She worked tirelessly in women's and children's ministry programs and she enjoyed singing in the choir. Jane considered it a privilege to attend church regularly through September 2015.

In addition to the parents she honored, Worley and Ollie Mae Hurd, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ballard John Ingram; brothers, Freddie, Kemp and Charles Hurd; sisters, Edna Wagner, and Nell McCollum; and granddaughter, Chandra Michelle Sizemore.

Survivors include son, Kenneth Ingram and wife, Nancy of California; daughters, Brenda Shanks and husband, John of Knoxville, Joan Ingram of Kingsport, and Rebecca Ingram Skrdla of Elizabethton; and grandchildren, Cindy Brown of New Mexico, Kathy Giles of Georgia, Courtney Skrdla of California, Alexandria Ingram of Kingsport, Ashley and Cody Lipman, Danielle, J.R., and Jamielyn Giles, all of Georgia.

Jane's family extends gratitude to the medical providers, friends and family who cared for her and supported the family in her last days.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Randall Pressnell officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 10:00 am at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carmel. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral home at 9:00 am to go in procession.
