Philip E. Taylor, 68, Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 30, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
Philip resided in the West Carters Valley area of Kingsport all his life and was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School Class of 57. He retired from Mason Dixon Trucking after 38 years of service.
Philip was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was a member of Nottingham United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred E. and Tennie Taylor; one brother, James Hal Taylor; and one son, James Edwin Taylor.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen M. Taylor of the home; two sons, Tim Taylor and wife, Pam of Kingsport; Wes Taylor and wife, Carla of Mount Carmel; and four grandchildren, Whitney, Matthew, Morgan, and Lauren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nottingham United Methodist Church.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Bill Porter officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will be honorary pallbearers.
