Phyllis Jean Hansen, age 76, went to be with The Lord on Monday, March 11, at her home in Kingsport, TN. She was born October 20, 1942, in Petersburg, IL to Frank and Mary Hodgen. She married Harold “Bud” Hansen on April 7, 1961. She will be reunited in Heaven with her dear Uncle Hoolie and Aunt Lucille Doyen and special dog, Molly.
She is survived and will be missed by her husband and two beloved Rat Terriers, Phoebe and Sugar, as well as daughters Tammy (Joe) Augustitis and Teri Hansen. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Nicky Barton, Jeff Reynolds, Joe and Mike Augustitis, and Kelsi (fiancé David) Swalley and three great-grandchildren, Reagan and Reid Barton and Ralston Reynolds, all of Illinois.
Phyllis doted on her furbabies and made many friends through the online Rat Terrier community. She will be greatly missed by her neighbors, friends, and the extended family she connected with through her avid interest in genealogy. She was looking forward to Spring, so that she could continue to tend to her beautiful flower garden.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in her hometown of Petersburg, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Phyllis’s memory by donating to New Rattitude, a rat terrier rescue group at www.newrattitude.com.
