Phyllis June Shaffer

Phyllis J. Shaffer, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, on her birthday Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Phyllis will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her husband, Henry Shaffer, and parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Adele Graber and husband Andrew of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, Barbara Shaffer of Kingsport, Darlene Rhymer and husband Richard of Church Hill; one son, Clarence Shaffer and wife Debbie of Champlain, Minnesota; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Ondre and husband James of Piscataway, New Jersey, Jeannie Locke and husband Robert of Toms River, New Jersey; two brothers, Ronald Koye and wife Margie of Piscataway, New Jersey, Raymond Koye and wife Candace of North Brunswick, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
