Phyllis S. Greer, 79, Kingsport, died Wednesday morning at her home surrounded by her family.
She lived in Kingsport almost all of her life and was a 1954 graduate of Sullivan High School.
Phyllis was a long time member of Sullivan Baptist Church. She worked at the Pentagon for several years, The First National Bank, as a secretary at Eastman Kodak, and retired after 29 years with the Sullivan County school system. Phyllis touched many young people's lives through her church work and work in the school system.
She was preceded in death by her parents, S.M. Sizemore and Ada H. Sizemore, and her brother, Jerry Sizemore.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gilmer K. Greer; daughter, Rebecca Anne Greer, son, Michael K. Greer, and daughter, Kathryn D. Greer; one granddaughter, Nellie K. Greer; sister-in-law, Rebecca B. Sizemore; and a number of extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating.
