Polly M. Jones

Polly McCracken Jones, 72, Kingsport, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in the emergency room at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Smythe County, VA on September 24, 1940, a daughter of the late Hoover and Monnie Wininger McCracken, she lived in Stockbridge GA for 20 years before returning to Kingsport in 2008. Polly retired from Southern Regional Hospital in Clayton County, GA in 2005. She was a Christian and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Moose lodge. Polly will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mom, grandma, sister and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Sonny" Jones in 1977.

Polly is survived by her son Randall Jones and wife, Lanette of Oswego, IL; daughter, Crystal Etchison and fiancé, Michael Smith of Fredericksburg, VA; grandson, Nolan Jones; good friend and former husand, Charles "Slick" Stuffle of Kingsport; brother, Clarence Edward McCracken, Jr. of Knoxville; sisters, Clara McCracken Haynes of Mt. Carmel, Opal Peters and husband, Gerald of Fall Branch; and Joyce Jones and husband Clyde of Church Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Dr. Tommy Haynes officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 am at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.

Pallbearers will be Randall Jones, Michael Smith, Todd Baker, Billy Stuffle, Joe Stuffle and Mark Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Stuffle, Gerald Peters, Clyde Jones and Aaron Haynes.
