Preston Larry Bridges Benton, 27, of Kingsport, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 2, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. Preston was an honors graduate of Sullivan North High School and a member of the school R.O.T.C. He was employed at Biggie's Restaurant. Preston was an avid NASCAR fan and had always strived to do any task or job with the utmost perfection.
Preston was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Hugh Benton; paternal grandparents, Fred and Jeanette Bridges.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne Benton; son, Amichai Matthew Benton; step-daughter, Gustavia Leanne Hicks; mother, Janice Lee Breeding; father, Philip Larry Bridges; sisters, Alicia Lifford and husband, Matt, Mindy Guinn and husband, Travis; brother, Jason White and wife, Jackie; maternal grandmother, Edna Greene and husband, Jerry; aunt, Christine Hood and husband, Bill; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and all of his Biggie's family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10-12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Bogle and Rev. Arthur Harlan officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be all of his Biggie's family, Michael Dinsmore and Rex Boggs. The honorary pallbearer will be Jason White.
