Ralph McPherson

Ralph McPherson died on April 4, 2017. Ralph served in the United States Army and was stationed in Italy during World War II. He was a graduate of Emory and Henry College and worked at Eastman Kodak for 35 years as a chemist. He was married to Katie Bewley McPherson for 67 years. He and his wife have been long-standing members of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

Ralph was musical. He sang and played the trombone in a band in high school and later in Lock Lowman's Band in Virginia. He will always be remembered by his joking spirit and contagious laugh. Ralph was loving and kind and always ready to offer a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by four sister and two brothers.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Katie McPherson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with The Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating. A reception will follow in the parlor.
