Ralph Morelock, 81, Old Blairs Gap Road, went home to be with the Lord at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Hawkins County and had lived in Sullivan County most of his life. Ralph was a farmer and an avid gardener.
Preceding him in death were a grandson, Ronnie L. Allen Dickerson; three sisters, Lola, Clora, and Elmira Morrison; and four brothers, Carl, Earl, Harold, and J. H.
Surviving are his wife, Lora Morelock of the home; two daughters, Rita Light and husband Tony of Kingsport, Ruby Beamer and husband Dennis of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Keshia Wine and husband Cody, Cassidy Light and wife Aubrey; two great-grandchildren, Kyndel and Camryn; one sister, Karline Elliott of Kingsport; one brother, Carson Morelock of Fall Branch; a special nephew, Marvin Morelock and family; special sisters-in-law, Opal Taylor, Linda McAmis, Darlene Morelock; childhood and lifelong friends, Grady Light and O. B. Morelock; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call any time at the home of a daughter, Rita Light; and from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Morelock officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Light Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
