Ralph Penley, 75, of Kingsport, passed away July 24, 2010 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burle and Lucille Penley; son, Carson Penley; brothers, Paul, Fred, Frank, and Roy Penley; sister, Martha Hinkley.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Penley; son Rex Penley and wife Kathy; daughter Brenda Little and husband Walter; grandchildren; Lisa Marie Little, Ricky Allen Penley, Harlan Walker Penley; brothers, Ray Penley and wife Judy, Carl Penley and wife Mary Lynn, Darl Penley and wife Barbara, Charlie Penley and wife Beatrice, Donnie Penley; sisters, Helen Penley, Mary Bowen and husband Hagan; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or anytime at the home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Harrison and Rev. Rick Bowser officiating. Ralph will lie in state from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm at the church.
Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Freddy Penley, Michael Penley, Mitch Penley, Brent Penley, Danny Dykes, Richard Guy, Ronnie Rines, and Ricky Penley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be G.N. Harrison, Junior Light, Guy Barron, Jim Chase, Donald Garst, Ricky Copas, Kenneth Wilkerson, Robert and Walter Little, and Leroy Brewer.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain States Hospice and also to Sarah, Joanna, Sandy, Ruby, Ivy, D.H. Lowe, David Snyder, and Brandy Harrison. Thanks to all of our family and friends for all the visitation and prayer during Ralph's sickness.
