Ralph H. Waters

Ralph H. Waters, 86, of Kingsport passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was a resident of Kingsport all his life and served in the U. S. Army during World War II where he was wounded in combat. Ralph was a retiree of Eastman Kodak and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and Bible study.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Kathyren Waters, and one brother.

Surviving are one son, Don Waters and wife Brenda; one granddaughter, Marlene Holman and husband Steve; two great-grandchildren, Harley and Paizhia Holman; three sisters-in-law, Deloris Whiten and husband Jim, Vic Myers, and Martha Coates, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Roberts officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
