Randy Shaffer

Randy Shaffer, 63, Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Bristol, He has lived in this area all of his life. A graduate of Sullivan Central High School, he worked for many years at the Kingsport Press. He was an avid Tennessee Vols and NASCAR fan and loved working in the garden. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Lizzie Shaffer; sister, Brenda Maples; and brother, Billy Shaffer.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sherry Shaffer; daughter, Amanda Shaffer (Nathan Dennison); son, Mark Shaffer (Laura Kelliher); 4 step-grandchildren, Dillon, Dennis, Teresa and Elizabeth; 3 brothers, Bobby Shaffer, Dewey Shaffer and Terry Shaffer; 2 sisters, Frances Sims and Jeannette Sawyer; 3 brothers-in-law, Norman Starnes and wife, Carla, Tommy Starnes and wife, Linda, and Kyle Starnes; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Bro. Ryan Shaffer and Bro. Terry Shaffer officiating.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to defray expenses.
