Ray Coleman ?R.C.? Barrett went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 1, 2010, at his home on R.C. Barrett Road in Kingsport. Mr. Barrett was a trustee and lifelong member of Gospel Mission Church on Lone Star Road in Kingsport.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Evelee Barrett on March 4, 2008; his parents, Ray and Cecil Simpson Barrett; sister, Rose Marie Reedy Barrett; and infant sister, ?Sissy?.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Pete Smith of Kingsport and Janis and Randy Hass of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jeremy Smith and wife Faith of Kingsport, Joshua Smith and wife Christina of Blountville, Michael Hass and wife April of Kingsport, and Rachel Wells and husband MaKeegan of Kingsport; his very special little nurse and great-granddaughter, Regan Smith; a great-grandson, Gaige Wells, Papaw ?C??s little helper; sister, Mary Arnold and husband Joe; brothers, Joe Barrett and wife Nancy of Kingsport and David Barrett and wife Brenda of Kingsport; brother-in-law, James ?Sam? L. Smith; sister-in-law, Loretta Smith Wilcox of the Pine Grove Community; and a very special nephew, Jehovah Barrett of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gospel Mission Church or anytime at the home of Pete and Dianna Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Thursday at Gospel Mission Church with Pastor Lewis Meade, Rev. Burl Fann, Rev. Shelton Meade, and Brother Danny Dolen officiating. Rev. Orville Dolen will serve as honorary minister. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Dolen, Phillip Dolen, Tommy Hammonds, Marty Jackson, Jehovah Barrett, Kyle Chase, Wayne Simpson, Chad Dalton, Shannon Barrett, and Phillip Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of D & R Small Engine Repair The College.
