Ray E. (Pete) Ford, Jr., 82, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 29, 2013 following a lengthy illness of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Johnson City.
Mr. Ford was a retired truck driver of 40 years with Riggs Brothers Construction Company of Kingsport. He served in the U. S. Army stationed in Germany.
Mr. Ford was the son of the late, Ray E. Ford, Sr. and Mary Bacon Ford of the Harmony Community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Tootie) Ford; one daughter, Teresa Johnson, Kingsport; two sisters, June Hartman and Judy Ford; four brothers, Jack Ford, Creed Ford, Gene Ford, and Bill Ford.
He is survived by one daughter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tim Ford of Jonesborough.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bacon-Kincheloe Cemetery with Pastor Brian Nulf officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Posts 3/265.
