Ray K. Williams, 68, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012.

Ray lived the majority of his life in the Scott County area and Kingsport, TN. He graduated from ETSU with a BS in Accounting and from the University of Tennessee with a MS in Accountancy. He began his professional career with Price Waterhouse in Atlanta, GA and then moved to Pittston Coal Company in Virginia. Ray then started his own CPA firm in Scott County and taught at Virginia Highlands Community College.

He was a member of the AICPA, TSCPA, VSCPA, Olde Farm, Tennessee Vols Athletic Booster Club, Country Coach Association, Paradise Park Homeowners Association, Tennessee Tailgaters and Holston View United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Virginia National Guard.

Ray was an avid UT sports fan, enjoyed traveling, spending the winters in Florida, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Williams.

Ray is survived by his wife, Cathy H. Williams, Kingsport; son and daughter-in-law, Hunter and Sara Williams, Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Whitney Williams, New York, NY; daughter, Ashley Williams, Atlanta, GA; mother, Rosa Williams; sister, Wilma Patrick; sister and brother-in-law, Jorita and Sam Musick; niece, Stasha and Matthew MacMurray and their daughter, Mattie MacMurray; sister-in-law, Sherry Hamilton; and numerous cousins and relatives.

The celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, September 4th at 4 p.m. at St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN with the Reverend David Graves officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ray's name to Holston United Methodist Home for Children, P. O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN 37744; or the charity of one's choice.
