Raymond Beam

Francis Raymond Beam, 74, formerly of Kingsport, TN, died unexpectedly early Monday, January 8, 2007 at Park West Hospital, Knoxville, TN.

Born in Tazewell County, VA Jewel Ridge, he was the paternal grandson of the late Jessee and Erma Beam of Wise County and the maternal grandson of the late Francis B. Greear and Orpha Wolfe Greear of Coeburn, VA Flatwoods.

After his father?s death, he made his home with the Francis Greear family for several years before moving to Kingsport. Mr. Beam had made his home in Prestwick Assisted Living Facilities in Knoxville, TN for the past several years.

In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his parents, Pearly J. Beam and Norma G. Beam Martin; and brothers, Conrad Rufus Beam of Erwin, TN and Don ?Log? Martin of Kingsport.

He is survived by two sisters, Anita B. Kern and husband, Walter Ray ?Shorty? Kern and
Clara Lee Martin Haynes and husband, Haskell, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews, including niece, Mrs. Dianna K. Hurd of Clinchport, VA and nephews, Gary Lynn Beam of Erwin, TN and Wayne E. Kern Kingsport.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Pierce
officiating. A short eulogy will be given by his nephew, Wayne E. Kern.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
