Raymond E. Coffey, 71, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Tuesday at midnight, October 11, 2016 at Mountain Home VA Hospital following an extended illness. Ray was born in Kingsport where he lived most of his life. Ray was a graduate of Fall Branch High School, class of '63. After graduating, he worked at Mead Corp. prior to going into the Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam during the late 60's. He entered the Marine Corp. on January, 14, 1966 and completed his military service on January 13, 1970. After Vietnam, Ray was in the Honor Color Guard in Washington D.C. Upon completion of his military services, he returned home and worked at Mead Corp until his retirement. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ray served as Worshipful Master of Lodge 688 F&A.M. in 1993, having been active in Jericho Shrine Center until his illness prevented him from attending.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Geraldine Jobe Coffey; sons, Shannon Coffey and wife Brandy, and Travis Coffey and wife Christy, all of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan, and Joura; brother, Larry Coffey and wife Betty of Kingsport; brother-in-law, Dennis Jobe and LuAnna; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Masonic Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service with Rev. Danny Dolen.

Military Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Lone Star Cemetery by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Keith Lipe, Darryl Lipe, Curtis Griggs, Larry Coffey, Jason Coffey, Euggie Jones, Riccardo Misciagna, and Sean Reed.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be given to the Shiners Hospital.
