Reba Mullenix Jackson, 91, of Fall Branch, passed away on Tuesday, February, 22, 2011, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport following a brief illness.
Reba was an active member of Jearoldstown United Methodist Church for as long as her health permitted, and was a 53-year member of Washington Chapter No. 57, Order of the Eastern Star, Fall Branch.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Oma Hensley Mullenix; two brothers, Clifford E. Mullenix and John Millard Mullenix; two sisters, Clarice Mullenix and Ruth Mullenix Brandon; her husband of 45 years, Oral Fay Jackson; and her grandson, David A. Quillen.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Terri Mullenix-Jackson of the home, Carol F. Stephens of Fall Branch, and Karen L. Quillen and husband John E. Quillen of Jonesborough; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger A. Jackson and wife Becky B. Jackson of Morristown; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Stykes and husband Bob, Connie Quillen, Jeffrey Quillen and wife Lorrene, Jana Smith and husband Jim, Travis Jackson, Danielle Jackson, Kaela Jackson; nine great-grandchildren, Brandy Stykes, Amber Stykes, Natalie Garrett, Ryland Quillen, Olivia Quillen, Joshua Light, Jarred Light, Brandon Smith, and Hannah Smith; two great-great-grandchildren, Noah English and Mataya McConnell; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marguerite Jackson Noble and husband Bill of Billings, Montana; and her special nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday February 24, 2011 at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson. The funeral will begin at 8:00 pm with Rev. Richard Bowers officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday February 26, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Durham, Phil Durham, Bob Stykes, Jim Smith, Nathan Davis, and George Moody.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Brandon, John Brandon, Freddie Pierce, Gary Pierce, Dommie Jackson, Mike Southerland, and Jim Manley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jearoldstown United Mithodist Church, c/o Mrs. Marie Baxter, 1765 Jearoldstown Road, Chuckey, TN, 37641, OR to the charity of one's choice.
