Reba Nelson

Reba Nelson, 103, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, November 19, 2019 at Brookdale Rock Springs.  Reba was born in Scott County, VA, Copper Creek Community and came to Kingsport in her childhood where she lived the rest of her life.  Reba was the oldest member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church where she attended until declining health.  Reba loved to work in her flowerbeds and yard as long as she was able. She was a great mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bond Nelson; sister, Floy Williams; brothers, Guy Williams and Carmine Williams; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Nelson.

Reba is survived by her daughter, Connie Kinlaw of Knoxville; son, Larry Nelson of Kingsport; 3 grandchildren, Travis Nelson, Richard Jones and wife Nancy and Scott Jones and wife Robin; and 3 great-grandchildren, Cabel Jones, Micah Jones, and Sawyer Reagan; and one great-great granddaughter, Neveah Jones.

Special appreciation to Janice Ferguson, the staff of Brookdale Rock Springs, and NHC Healthcare.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with grandson Scott Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
