Rebecca Higgs Feagins, 91, of Kingsport, TN, died on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born in Anes Station, TN she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She was a graduate of Marshall County High School and MTSU, and received her Master's in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. Rebecca moved to Kingsport to work at Eastman Kodak and after 5 years retired to become a lifelong homemaker. She was an active member of Mafair United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Feagins; parents, Robert and Marilee Higgs; and brother, Dr. Jack Higgs.
Rebecca is survived by her son, Edward Ray Feagins Jr. and wife, Kathy Jo of Bristol, TN; daughter, Kathy Lee Feagins of Johnson City; son, Bob Higgs Feagins and wife, Laura; grandson, Higgs Thomas Edward Feagins; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ken Feagins and Marvin Feagins; sisters-in-law, Reny Higgs, Joann Guthrie and Velma Wilson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to the caregivers at Asbury Steadman Hill and NHC Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Mafair United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Amy Probst officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mafair United Methodist Church, 1409 E. Center St., Kingsport, TN 37664.
