Rebecca Shipman Tucker

Rebecca Shipman Tucker, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Rebecca was born on August 14, 1936 in Marion, North Carolina to Frederick and Aileen Shipman. Rebecca worked as an office manager for Dr. Platt, Jones and Blackburn in Lynchburg, VA for 37 years. After moving to Tennessee after the death of her husband, she was an active volunteer for the Kingsport Community Ministry Center. She taught CPR for the American Red Cross for many years and was active in the food pantry at her church. She was a charter member of LifeBridge Christian Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Tucker, brother, Eugene Shipman, and sister, Betty Vaughn.

Rebecca is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at LifeBridge Christian Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Scott Plyler officiating.
