Rev. Carl V. Gregg, Sr., 77, Greeneville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home.
He was a member of Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Rev. Gregg had pastored several different churches in the area. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
His parents, Roy Gregg and Clara Barton preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Gregg, Greeneville; one daughter, Elizabeth Fields and husband Ben, Greeneville; five sons, Carl Gregg, Jr. and wife Debbie, Church Hill, Clifford Gregg and wife Freda, Greeneville, Mark Gregg and wife Vicki, Greeneville, Roy Gregg and wife Maria, Jonesborough, Cecil Gregg and wife Barbara, Greeneville; and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Greeneville with Rev. Eddie Malone and Brother Robert F. Seymore officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Josh Gregg, Brian Gregg, Benjamin Fields, Virgil Booker, James Gregg, and Daniel Gregg.
