Rev. Glenn Carson Dockery, 74, of Brookhaven Manor, Kingsport, was called home by his God on Saturday January 3, 2009 after an extended illness.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Cora Almie Williams Dockery, of Brookhaven Manor; son, Hank Carson Dockery, Fall Branch; daughter, Judy Gail Dockery Shaffer and husband, Tommy Daniel, Kingsport; grandchildren, Hank, Heather, Kelly, and Hope; sisters, Jerline Dockery Lyons and husband, Charles, Edison, TN, and Bobbie Jean Dockery Byington and husband, Jerry, Clinchport; brother, Gail Dockery and wife, Barbara, Gate City, VA; great-grandchildren, Logan and Jakob; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Home National Park Cemetery with Rev. Terry C. Williams officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #3/265.
