Rhoda C. Hunley, 89, of Church Hill, died Tuesday night, March 10, 2015, at Indian Path Medical Center, after an extended illness. Born in Jonesville, VA, she had resided in Church Hill most of her life. Rhoda was a homemaker, Baptist and an avid NASCAR fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken "Bear" Hunley, daughter, Rhonda, parents, Henry Collins and Martha Anderson Collins; brothers, Ed, Coy, Grover, Buster, and Kim; and sisters, Virgie Smallwood and Kate Andis.
Rhoda is survived by her son, Kenny Hunley and wife, Katrina of Church Hill; two stepsons, David Hunley of Church Hill and Gary Hunley of Kingsport; two grandsons, Kent Hunley and Cody Hunley; 3 step-granddaughters, Tracy Dayton, Christy Hunley and Megan Hunley; sister, Ruth Collins of Jonesville, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Chaplain Barry Carr officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:30 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 207 North Boone St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
