Richard Temple Cadwallader, 65, of Scott County, Virginia, passed away Friday (May 31, 2013) at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in East Tennessee for many years and worked with Mountain States Health Alliance.
He was known for his wit and intelligence, and was a devoted father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Samuel Cadwallader, and granddaughter Julia Stolte.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Susan Cadwallader, of Scott County, VA; daughter, Laurel Stolte, her husband Christopher, and grandson Elias of Chapel Hill, NC; daughter Megan Cadwallader, her husband Erek Napora, and grandchildren Gable and June of Blountville; and brothers Roger Cadwallader of Corning, CA, and Russell Cadwallader of Aptos, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is serving the family, and there will be a private family gathering celebrating his life.
