Richard L. Chapman

Richard L. Chapman, 86, of Kingsport, passed away at home, late Wednesday evening following a brief illness. Richard was born in Jenkins Jones, WV and lived for most of his life in Kingsport. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School, class of ’56. Richard retired from AFG Greenland after many years of service.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Iva Nell; siblings, Geraldine Ramey, David Chapman; nephew, Chris Chapman; great-niece, Allison Chapman.

Survivors include siblings, Alfred Chapman, Paul Chapman, Randy Chapman, Laverne Rowland, Dennie Chapman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Doyle Robinson (his caregivers); special niece, Tesla Robinson; sister-in-law, Faye Head; several nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin, Mary Howard.

Private family graveside services are scheduled for February 3, 2025, with Chaplin Michael Driver officiating.
