Richard Mitchell, 68, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and was a Vietnam Vet. He served four years as a Medical Specialist during the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John R. Mitchell and Lola L. Tucker Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Mitchell; daughter, Tammy Thompson and husband, Danny of New York; son, Steve Mitchell of New York; step-sons, Timothy and Anthony Lane of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Jacob, Anthony, Stephanie, Brooke and Kelsey.
