Richard Dean Morefield
Richard Dean Morefield, 77, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Richard was publisher of the paper, Tennessee Seasons . He worked as an accountant and had served in the U.S. Army. He was active in several churches.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Walter Morefield, and a brother, Dallas Morefield.
He is survived by a daughter, Deanne Kinnard and husband, Brian, of Kingsport; a son, Richard Dean Morefield, II, of Manassas, VA; two grandchildren, Tyrel and Terry Kinnard, of Kingsport; sisters Helen Bowers, of Johnson City, and Donna Campbell and husband, Kenneth, of Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rick Peters, of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rock Springs United Methodist Church, with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Posts #3/265. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help offset funeral expenses.
