Richard Olsen, 83, Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.
Richard served in the British Royal Air Force during World War II and was involved in the Battle of Conn, France. After the war, he earned his degree as an Electrical Engineer. Richard worked in Canada on the Dew Line; in Alabama for the Alabama Power Board; in Florida for the Kennedy Space Center; and in Saudi Arabia for ARRAMCO.
Survivors include his daughter, Sonia Olsen and husband Don of California; son, Eric Olsen and wife Karen of North Carolina; brother, Brian Hawkes; and his beloved, Freda of Kingsport.
Richard's wish was to be cremated. There will be no services.
