Richard "Trixie" Parks
Ricky "Trixie" Parks, 62, of Nickelsville, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Parks, Jr.; his father and mother, S.V. and Alice Parks; and two sisters and their husbands, Fern and Arnold Harris and Faye and Bob Slaughter.
Trixie is survived by his sister, Peggy Pendleton and husband, Clay of Gate City, VA; special friend, Tina Rhoton of Weber City, VA; nieces, Sherry Bledsoe, Robin Slaughter, Chelsea Pendleton, Mechon Baker; nephews, Sam Harris, Mark "Polo" Harris, Bobby Slaughter, Travis Lane, and other very special cousins and numerous friends.
The family wants to thank all of the nurses, doctors, and staff from the 3rd floor at Wilcox Hall, Wellmont Hospice and all of Trixie's special friends.
The family will receive friends at any time at the home of his sister, Peggy Pendleton.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Nickelsville Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Collins and Rev. Mike Hobbs officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN, 37620.
