Richard Lee Starnes

Richard Lee Starnes, 63, of Kingsport died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Rick was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He spent a period of time serving in the United States Army, stationed in Panama. Following his service, Rick returned to Kingsport to pursue a degree from ETSU in Business Administration before beginning a career as an electrician with Kingsport Armature. He was an active member of the Kingsport Moose Lodge and enjoyed the friendships he made there. Rick is certainly gone too soon and his absence will be felt by those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas H. Starnes and Marcella Dean Starnes.
Rick is survived by his partner of 12 years, Judy Miller; brother, Gale Starnes; sister, Betty Ann Turner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Military services will be conducted by The American Legion, Hammond Posts 3/265 on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 3pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
