Rickey Wayne Ramey, age 49 of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 10th at his home.
He was born August 23rd, 1961 in Kingsport and lived here all his life. He attended Ketron High School and worked at the Kingsport Press as a group leader in the 80's. Rick was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, wrestling, NASCAR and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He rode motorcycles all throughout his life and was a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, G. DeWitt and Della Juanita Bennett and mother, Shirley Bennett Blakley.
He is survived by daughter, Brandi Ramey and fiancé, Wesley of Kingsport, Tennessee; son, Travis Ramey and wife Mandy of Blountville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Khloe Amdyn Ramey, Hannah Ramey, Hayden Ramey, Parker Ramey and Henley Dunbar; father, Enos Blakley of Kingsport, Tennessee; brothers Tony Blakley and Robby Blakley and wife Ronda, both of Kingsport, Tennessee; uncle J.W. Bennett of Kingsport, Tennessee and best friend, Brett Wagner of Washington D.C. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14th between 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 15th at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside are asked to meet at Hamlett-Dobson at 10:15 a.m. Monday.
