Ricky "Keyball" Key

Ricky Key, 67, of Kingsport, died Tuesday morning, January 3, 2023 while doing what he loved best, hunting in the hills of Southwest Virginia after an apparent heart attack.  Ricky was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a 1973 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School.  He received an Associates Degree from Northeast Technical School.  He enjoyed his lawn mowing service in the Kingsport area. Ricky loved to hunt and fish and was a loyal fan of the Dobyns-Bennett Indians.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Key and Louise White Key.

Ricky is survived by his sister, Amy Key and her daughter, Mary Louise Mincy, of Orlando, FL; loving friend, Joyce Leonard and her family: Brittany Gill and Kimberly White; 10 grandkids; and Grandma June; as well as special friends Fred Gillenwater, Bill Parker, Bill Rhoton and Hagen Bowen. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 pm on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Greeneville, TN.
