Rick Quesenberry, 61, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, following a period of declining health. He was born in Kingsport, on April 8, 1958. Son of the late J.C. and Lucille Quesenberry, he had resided in this area his entire life. He married Penny S. Yates, on January 22, 1976 in Kingsport and had retired from Kingsport Foundry following 26 years of service. Rick was a Deacon at Bay’s Mountain Baptist Church and had a special place in his heart for the youth group and was the chicken go getter. He was a man of God, loving husband, father, had many close friends and loved fishing as well as the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Quesenberry and Jerry Quesenberry; sisters, Patty Kendrick and Sandy Quesenberry; nephew, Hughie Housewright; great-niece, Michelle Quesenberry; and special friend, Heather Mellons.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Penny Quesenberry; daughter, Bridgett Bergeron and special son-in-law Sean; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Wade Hill; and special friends, Mike Mellons, Roger Johnston, Doug Chappell, Ted Ball, Doug White, Mike Akers, Chris Housewright, Tim Nelson and wife, Kathy.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Bay’s Mountain Baptist Church. The service will follow at 7 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Tim Nelson officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Johnston, Doug Chappell, Ted Ball, Doug White, special friend, Mike Mellons, special friend Mike Akers, and special nephew, Chris Housewright.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, Kayla, Gail and Michelle.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Bay’s Mountain Baptist Church (2000 Meadowview Pkwy, Kingsport, TN 37660).
