Ricky Shortt

Ricky Allen Shortt passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, from a motorcycle accident while on his way to work in Riverview, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Creed and Dorothy Shortt; fraternal grandparents, Arthur and Lucy Shortt; maternal grandparents, Plesant Paul and Polly Sands; uncle, Charles "Bue" Sands; aunt, Virgie Miller; sister, Melissa Anne Shortt Harr; and daughter, Amanda Marie Shortt Prichard.

Ricky is survived by the love of his life: his daughter, Kilei Anna Marie Shortt; Jessie Lusher, Kilei's loving mother and his life companion, all of the home; his loving siblings, two brothers, Roy Shortt (Paula) of Rogersville; Paul Shortt (Barbara) of Gray; one sister, Jackie Wood (David) of Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren, Trevor Drake Prichard of Knoxville and Logan Faith Bledsoe of Powell; aunt, Kathleen Sands of Kingsport; four nieces, Charla S. Helton, Cheri J. Shortt, Tonya S. Everhart, and Nichole A. Harr; three nephews, Jason Wood, Aaron Wood, and Derek Shortt; four great-nieces, Lilly Helton, Leilani Hagerman, Jazamine Hagerman, and Brianna Shortt; one great nephew, Tristen Shortt; special friend, C.J. Johnston; also an abundance of life-long friendship brothers and sisters.

Honorary pallbearer will be Stanley Butcher.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Evangelist Darrell Thacker officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church.
