Robert Wayne Bailey

Robert Wayne Bailey, 91, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on March 11, 2025, at The Waters of Kingsport. Robert was born on July 8, 1933 in Providence, RI. He earned his bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island and later a Master's in Analytical Chemistry from Connecticut College. He enjoyed a long career in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. After retiring, and the death of his first wife in 1997, he moved from Wilmington, DE to Port Orange, FL. There he enjoyed golf and warm weather. Robert remarried in 2009. After the passing of his second wife in 2022, he relocated to Asbury Place in Kingsport with his beloved dog, Rusty, to be near family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Grace Bailey; his first wife, Harriet Holt Bailey; and his second wife, Kathleen Powell.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Anne Louise Webb (Isaac) of Kingsport; grandchildren, Adam Webb (Maria) of Murfreesboro and Clark Webb (Amy) of Jonesborough; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Shaffer of Kingsport.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at The Waters of Kingsport for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Petworks Animal Services (3101 E Stone Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.
