Robert "Rob" Bragg, 41, Kingsport, passed away late Friday evening at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
Rob was born in Kingsport where he had lived his entire life. He was a graduate of Sullivan South High School Class of 87. Rob enjoyed playing all sports, including baseball and basketball. He was an avid "Gator" fan. Rob was a certified welder, having worked at Fluor-Daniels and American Mechanical.
Rob attended Bays Mountain Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Bragg in 2009; paternal grandparents, Doc and Mellie Bragg; maternal grandparents, Claud and Lema Dykes; and sister-in-law, Dot Gass.
Survivors include his son, Dalton Bragg, Kingsport; mother, Bea Gass Bragg, Kingsport; three cousins; three special aunts, Ruby Bragg, Helen Dykes, and Helen Guy; and special cousin, Scott Guy.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Friends may also call at the home of his mother, Bea Bragg, 5930 Lone Star Road, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Baxter, Jamey Hopkins, and Anthony Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by Sonya Russell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Guy, Anthony Richardson, Jamey Hopkins, Marty Phillips, Lynn Crawford, Mark Harris, Keith Lisenby, Michael Dietz, Jimmy Winfield, Jesse Mittelstegdt, Chad Carberry, John Fleenor, Rodney Russell, Allen Boyer, Blaze Yeager, Jim Shaffer, and Brandy Mullenix.
Memorials may be given to the organization of donor's choice.
