Robert Junior Dykes
Robert Dykes, 57, of the Beech Creek Community, passed away July 11, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
His wife, Marlene Manis Dykes, father, Bob Dykes, sister, Brenda Clark and brother-in-law, Jerry Clark preceded him in death.
Surviving are his mother, Willie "Bill" Dykes; nieces, Sandy Mendenhall and husband Ricky, Debby Conkin and husband Randy, Vicky Dykes and fiancé Bill Benton, Trina Conkin and husband Chris, and Pam Mendenhall; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tracy Benton, Kevin Mendenhall and fiancée Brooke Self, Wayne Parrott, Travis Conkin, Amanda Conkin, and Austin Conkin; one brother, Willis Dykes and wife Wilma; and special family friend, Margaret Matthews, all of Rogersville, TN.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Orville Dolen and Pastor Emery Clint Ramey officiating.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Depew's Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Lucas, Lonnie Dykes, Roger Wimmer, Cody Wimmer, Wayne Dykes, Robert Gamble, Roy Lee Crawford, and Allen Killion.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice for all their care during Mr. Dykes illness.
